DIGITAL BUILDINGS - THE FUTURE IN MODULAR CONSTRUCTION

Managing Director Robert Kohler will give a lecture on the development of modular construction from serial to digital architecture in the course of the annual conference Digital Buildings. Already, buildings are being planned digitally and in 3D, but industrial production is still going on. That's why Mr. Kohler talks about the production of the future. Robots move into the workshops and manufacture modules at the touch of a button. An automation that is only possible in modular construction. Steel frame profiles are predefined so that they are only assembled by robots and have to be equipped with individually designed surface elements. The building automation defined during planning is also fully implemented. This means that a smart building in the factory can be prefabricated almost completely digitally.

In addition to the exciting topic of automation and robotics in production, Robert Kohler also provides information on the prerequisites for digital building construction and the digital planning that has already been used - how the virtual world merges with reality. The modular design is at the turning point from serial, industrial to digital prefabrication. Smart Buildings can be almost completely digitally prefabricated in the future.
